I'm broken but I'll be alright
It's a line from Yuna's song "Broke Her".
For me, that is one of the strongest words any woman can say.
The resilience, gravitas and confidence in that sentence. What an inspiring response in the face of calamity.
The statement resonates somehow to my current state of mind. Or it could be that my mind is connecting these dots to the chaos the world has seen in the last 24 hours, namely the recent tragedies in Paris this morning.
I was hoping this post would be one full of gratitude and appreciation to some of the inspiring people that have affected my life one way or another. I don't think it is the right time tonight, especially with the sombre mood of this day. Let's rest up tonight, forget all this for a few hours and try to process everything with a clear head.
Rest up and take care world
xx

Adore her
http://www.marieforleo.com
I have been watching the MarieTV on her youtube channel and let me just say, it has been such a pleasure and eye-opener. I never expected to be someone who listens to motivational speakers/ life guides but now I think it could really improve certain aspects of my life. Starting from the psychological understanding of situations and people right through to effective communication skills that could be of great benefit for the rest of my life really.
Many a times we can feel stagnant and there are ways to change that. By watching these motivational speakers on her channel has made me realise; just like Amy Poehler mentioned 'everybody is scared most of the time'. We are all the same, it is the way we handle, control our minds and actions that make the difference. Equipped with similar educational backgrounds, intelligence and abilities, people should really make the correct choices most of the time in life right? It seems not so in reality.
After all, it is all a mind game. Physicality sure has some of its effects but when the mind is all clear and ready to tackle the problems, it is only then we can reach to find the solutions.

My journey one step at a time
So my last presentation turned out to be a total disaster. Wish me the very best to get through this degree somehow!
Now I'm really looking forward to life after university, life where I control what to do, where to go and what to pursue ultimately. I know where I want to go and I am so excited to jump into the currents of this unexpected life. This is all I want to focus on at this moment.
After all, every end is a new beginning right?
This quote really struck a chord with my current situation
"New beginnings are often disguised by painful endings" - Lao Tzu
If this painful experience is what needs to get me moving then so be it.
As Frank Sinatra puts it in his song That's Life;
"Each time I find myself flat on my face,... I just pick myself up and get back in the race"
I thought I was fine until the quiet morning scared me to wake up and face the rest of the day.

It's come full circle
Hi again. Here I am in the first week of my last semester in my architecture degree. I have finally gotten close to the end of the tunnel. I don't know if it's anything weird but I am loving the fact that I attend university and I'm there to learn something. It took me so long to realise what a wonderful experience it is. At this age, I have come to understand the satisfaction and gratitude of such an opportunity. A little too late but I am glad to have felt it even at all. I never want to stop learning and building my knowledge, it's the battery that needs constant charging for my survival. What a silly sentence that was!
Now, our last ever studio project involves the icon of our city, Sydney Opera House. The picture perfect shelled structure donning the crown at the tip of Sydney's most famous harbour. It's come full circle. Not gonna lie that I am getting a little emotional. My whole journey is coming to an end at Sydney University with a project so fitting; Sydney's very icon located at the heart of city.
At the time when I am figuring things out, planning on a move across the world right after the end of my studies. This project ties up all the loose ends.
It's finally my time to take a bow to Sydney.

Signs of a dodgy hair salon
There are a few things I'd like to mention on this category, having been a customer in one just a few moments ago.
1. Using Homebrand clear plastic wrap to wrap up people's hair with (but it seems logical)
2. When the register counter has a brown half-eaten apple complete with the knife that was used to cut it up
3. When the other hairdresser at rest was just watching and picking her nose like no tomorrow (I could still see you out of the corner of my eye)
4. When the hairdresser asks you to stand up so that she can get a better angle to cut your hair(?) Yep, I had to stand up with my bag in my hands while she was snipping my hair away. Hahaha Never had anyone done this before
Well that's my short story about a 12 dollars of haircut happiness.
P.S. I'm actually happy with my haircut! And I'll surely be back again another time hehe
