I never intended to make this blog a place to vent my anger but there has been some disappointment in the last couple of weeks. What can I do? Although I am so happy uni will soon end.. in a month D: it's okay, at least it's kind of soon. Then I'll be free to do whatever I want! I cannot wait to turn this blog around and post some quality material. That's if I can find any! Haha but I'm sure that if I have all the free time I will be able to do fun things again. Or not. Since I'll be busy working. I want money too! Now I'm torn in between.. Haha it's okay, earning money is fun for me. It makes it even more challenging when I'm juggling two jobs at once! Fun times ahead? More like even busier times ahead! Gotta keep moving :)
Happy Wednesday! x

Surprise Visit
This must've happened about two weeks back right after I gave up on my Communications assignment. My dear friend, who rarely has time to play, texted me and asked if I was free. Of course, after the disappointment I felt from my tutor's critique made me wanna have fun even more! So I agreed to go and explore Sydney. But first, I needed to fill up my tummy with yummy nasi goreng that I had been craving since forever. Note: nasi goreng at eating world is no good at all!
Then I wanted to go and see The Star just because it's been recently renovated and now houses one of Adriano Zumbo's patisserie! It was my first time there too! Soo many poker tables and roulette tables and slot machines! I had fun watching people burn their money away while secretly judging them in my head. There was a man who burnt his money fast because he gambled it on the $100 table, didn't even have a sit cause it seemed like money meant nothing to him! Later I found him on the $30 table if I'm not wrong, but it was definitely of a lesser value one. Totally meant he lost his money right..
Then we searched for Zumbo patisserie and we bought 5 macarons; red wine & raspberry, salted caramel, popcorn, watermelon and blackened vanilla. OMG only one tasted good for me! Salted caramel was the best! Red wine was the worst of all, it tasted off! I just hated it. Vanilla was fine but watermelon and popcorn were still a little bit better. I think our $12.50 could have been spent more wisely.
We then made our way back to town hall / kinokuniya and not long after, he was a little impatient to eat the macarons so we went down to the newly refurbished foodcourt underneath TGV to eat it there. It was so fun picking out which to eat and seeing each other's reaction after taking a bite! Especially the red wine and raspberry one! Soon I realised I hadn't done my notes for history yet so I took my leave to go home. Anyway I had a nice time catching up with my friend doing unplanned things. And all these written up in the midst of my procrastination over my comms assignment due in 2 days! Good luck me!

Get me out of here!
Ok, I now officially cannot care any less about my assignment that's due in 2 days. Imagine yourself learning to be a fashion designer, wouldn't the course teach you how to sew to make clothes? Or a chef perhaps, wouldn't the course teach you how to cook in order for you to produce a certain dish? Well, teaching basic things like that in my uni is basically non-existent. But still they give us assignments that require the use of computer softwares such as autocad, photoshop and indesign in the very least. Some even use revit and autodesk for all I know. It is incomprehensible how easy they can get by in doing this course! It's like they can finish doing one assignment in one day. This has been proven by a guy in my class who has done tafe before. Other kids take days just to produce something on photoshop and to put it all together. i.e. me! and the quality is nothing and just awful in my opinion.
Communications is even worse! At the time where our whole semester's work is assessed with some photoshop images, they never taught us the software in details. We had lectures but the lack of notes given as well as the fast pace of the lecturer whilst showing us the steps just taught us nothing. My tutor blatantly said 'There is no time for us to teach you photoshop, you have to learn it yourself. Get some books and watch youtube videos.' No kidding!
So where are we supposed to go with this? I am so ready to give it all up and do nothing. I might just take some tafe courses and see what I can do later on. I'm that fed up with all of this.

As you do
I have now been putting off my work that is due in 2 days. I'm feeling like I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Will I ever make it? Do I like it that much? I don't know for sure to be honest. The course has not stopped my passion for it, though it's lessened it in such a way that I began to think it's not worth carrying on anymore. I truthfully expected better out of it. I hoped that it would have taught and aided me in the technical side of things so that when I do design something, my technical ability won't hinder the quality of the finished product. This is my biggest problem of all.
It is now week 10 and they have never taught us how to use any software like photoshop, indesign, cad, autodesk, revit etc properly! All we had were 2 or 3 lectures on photoshop where the lecturer just blazed through in making something that we never even had the chance to properly write down what steps he took exactly! I am not kidding. I expected a whole lot better out of Sydney University. Never been taught how to draft, they told us to look at some books and watch videos on youtube to teach ourselves how to use these softwares! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I'm paying you $1000 per subject and we have to self-learn on how to use softwares just so we can keep up with whatever assignment you're giving us? That is rubbish. I can spell it again to make it clearer, R-U-B-B-I-S-H.
I won't even be surprised if I ever failed at this course. And if I really did, I'm moving back to UNSW pronto. I don't even mind starting from semester 1 again there! What was I thinking when I put this course as my first preference??

Dinner Night
I was feeling a little down again today, actually quite awful and frustrated by the time I met my friends. It may have started out very early in the day where I was just too excited to have finished measuring out the building very quickly and soon realised that someone was not very detailed in recording all the measurements done. And therefore, we had to go back and measure some parts of it again. Anyway, it was still all good. Until.. I got onto the bus and picked a seat at the back of the bus where there was one very stinky person. I was trapped! The bus was so full, people were already starting to fill up the aisle. I was in this stupid condition during my 10-15 minutes bus ride because of heavy traffic! It was just plain awful.
Not until I reached the place where my friends and I were meant to meet up that I got really frustrated. They haven't left yet. There was no way I would have waited at least 30 minutes for them to get there. It was quite a dodgy place you see. I did say at one point to forget it and just have dinner on another night but because I didn't want to disappoint my friends, I still agreed to have it tonight. So I proceeded to stop at a 'better' station and decided I'd go to the toilet during my 30min wait for them. OH MY. As I queued up, a person came running towards the toilet and spewed right next to me. It was as if he could not hold it in anymore. As he opened the toilet door he spewed once again on the door!! At this point, I was really grossed out and was so close to just leave all together.
Anyway, I found the nearest priceline and totally forgot all about it. I was in total drugstore makeup haven so I was quite content, trying out testers and finding new shades of lipsticks. All the things that could make a girl happy. Once I reached the station to get on the train, my friend just would not pick up her phone. I really didn't care anymore and thought I'd jump into the first train I see. But I met her and we went to have dinner at El Jannah. The place was not so packed yet but it was already very busy. Our food came out in less than 5 minutes I would say, it was the fastest customer service ever. Maybe even better than buying a burger! The chicken had very crispy and very very very salty skin. It was good when combined with the yummy garlic sauce. My plate also had pickled gherkins and radish. I, for one, hate pickled stuff (an exception for Korean pickled radish) and so there was no chance I was going to eat all of it.
All was well until an African male who seemed to have been so stoned, came to our table (sat next to me) and started speaking gibberish, asking for money. Oh, I've had nightmares about things like these! Imagine if he had a knife and stabbed me if I didn't give him all my valuables. Or if he assaulted me! Or him and his group of friends (on the other side of the street) bashed us up or kidnapped us! Oh, the drama of living in Sydney's notorious western suburbs.
Ok, now we made way to this dessert place. It was nice, everything was sweet except for the ice cream. They weren't the best in my opinion but some of the sweets I really liked and some, well let's just say, not so much my favourites. I would probably not go back there again just because I don't feel like it's worth my travel time and there are shops around here that make those too. It was a good night although I am now realising that it was best to have had this another time because I still have not done the things needed by tomorrow! No sleep tonight..

MBFW Jenny Kee
I'm not having too good of a day today. My fear is that tomorrow will be even worse! I have a mountain high amount of homework to be done and yet I can't find any motivation to start any of it. Anyway, here's what I made in my "spare" time today.

MBFW SYDNEY 2012
Very much excited this year because I am now more in touch, or rather, have more interest in fashion than ever before. Especially being a Sydney-sider myself, this fashion week definitely is closer to heart. Over the years, I have always put Melbourne as the fashion destination of Australia and have always blamed Sydney for always missing out on the best things. You name it, Australian Open, Australian Formula One Grand Prix races, Australian MotoGP, Melbourne Cup and the list goes on and on. At least for now, we know we have the world's attention by bringing forward some of the most famous bloggers on earth to attend the show such as Susie Bubble, Bryanboy, Rumi Neely, Phil Oh (the photographer) and probably some more which I may not know of. Not to mention, we now have Nicole Warne who is just a star blogger. Let's get going with some of my favourites from the whole fashion week.

The Experience
Yesterday, I mustered up the courage to go ahead with the procedure. I knew it would be painful but I felt like I needed to give it a try. The needles were the most painful part of it all and the rest was done in total numbness.
I did hear the surgeon's knife slicing my skin and it was not long before he started stitching it up. It was all done in merely minutes!
I had the chance to look at the fresh stitched-up wound today and felt so proud of the guts I had to go right ahead with the procedure! Never in my life have I had stitches. Let alone 4 of them!
I cannot wait until the stitches are removed this Monday to reveal a slightly better-healed wound. I hope the scar will go away quickly..
Oh, and here are some of the things I cannot/should really avoid doing at the moment:
- Talking
- Smiling & Laughing
- Sneezing & Coughing
Basically anything that requires my face muscle to move around my mouth and nose area. How sad..
So I've decided not to attend classes until Monday, in case I start talking & laughing too much that my stitches become undone and the wound opens up to reveal a crater of flesh in the middle of my face! I don't want that!
