I've missed this

I've missed just having the time to write over here and just blab away my worries and thoughts.
Where do I begin? At the time when I try and write another post (like right now) I always ask myself, what does this space mean to me? I'm still not sure because I barely ever have time to even develop it any further from what it is now.

Today I'd like to talk about how truly happy I am with the position I am in at the present time. It's not all rainbows and butterflies but I know for sure, I am in such great company or rather position with school, work and spiritually. I still have changes to make in the near future but I know with the determination I have, I will make it happen.

The year started really well. Maybe that was the reason behind everything else that happened after. I had my first trip to Europe, Spain mainly. I also got to see Paris for 3 days. It was truly an eye-opener. I felt that everyone just embraced art and everything that comes with it. I am not saying I am condoning everything I saw there but really it screamed out such a contrast to the principles I am so used to, after being raised in a conservative Asian family.

Really the whole trip was quite a whirlwind to be honest. But fast forward to Spain where we lost 3 days in lovely Barcelona. Gosh that was such a loss but anyway, I got to see the aquarium and devoured some amazing chicken rice in Singapore so that sort of made up for it. So the trip had finally and officially started in Madrid as we were 2 or 3 days late on our schedule. The city was cool but I felt it lacked tourists, people would probably consider it rather exciting. But for a medium built Asian girl, it is somewhat of a threat. Maybe it was just me, but it felt like they've barely ever come across an Asian person or something. I still could not fathom how different I felt in a western country, considering I live in one too. I guess Australia has been Asian-ified so much that it really does not bother anyone anymore whether there is an Asian person walking on the street or not. Overall I thought the place was pretty cool, everything seemed like a walking distance away. The streets came alive on saturday night, and I mean they reeally do come alive. The dead streets were just filled with people walking around everywhere. I LOVED IT.

These ones were taken on the way to see Alhambra in Granada. I loved the trip there so much! It was so cool just looking at the rocky mountains, rows and rows of olive trees, farms and the picturesque snowy mountain looming in the distant background. total bliss.

Arriving in Granada

Excuse the amateur photo taking, I was so excited to see this outside our balcony, it is the famous Alhambra after all. I hardly even noticed that my finger was captured in the photo.

I never really understood the need for so many different rubbish bins at one spot. The Spaniards must be excellent in separating their rubbish at home.

Adios! Alhambra photos next.
